Dear friends, we are reaching out with an urgent need for Rodney and Trina Kirkpatrick, the founders of IRC Ministries and parents to three adult children. For decades, they have dedicated themselves to pouring into others. Their passion is to participate in God’s redemptive process, since this is their personal story, and especially believe they are called to grow leaders in the Christian faith. More on that later.
In the first week of November, while ministering to a network of churches in The Netherlands, Rodney began experiencing heartburn and back pain. During an overseas flight to Dallas, then a lengthy drive home, Rodney’s condition worsened, and was rushed to the emergency room. With 90% blockage in one artery and 100% blockage in another, he underwent a successful bypass surgery on November 17th.With medications administered and the bypass surgery completed, there were complications with Rodney’s kidneys, requiring a return to urgent care. Rodney and Trina returned to their home on December 22nd. Of course, there are follow up visits to check his oxygen levels, fluid retention and kidney health.
This is where we, the Body of Christ, steps in. Without insurance coverage, the Cardiologist, Anesthesiologist, Nephrologist and Physical Therapist costs have become overwhelming (in addition to two hospital stays, totaling over three weeks). We invite you to extend your generosity to support the Kirkpatricks. Perhaps you have been touched by their behind-the-scenes work – even if you’ve never met them personally. I’m reminded of Galatians 6:2, which says that “Help carry each other’s burdens. In this way you will follow Christ’s teachings.” Will you please consider a gift to this wonderful couple, to help ease the financial burden they are facing? We invite you to pray, asking how you can practically lighten their load.
The Kirkpatricks have tirelessly invested in the discipleship and growth of thousands of lives through Biblical standards. Rodney and Trina have come alongside the leadership of churches in Brazil, sub-Saharan Africa, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Whether in the “high church” setting or the bush of Africa, they offer long term relationship, under the direction of the Holy Spirit and his Word. Uplifting these men and women, the leaders receive help getting past personal challenges, while receiving true wisdom to support their roles in expanding the Kingdom of Christ Jesus.Thank you for considering Rodney and Trina in their time of need. They have given us so much of their lives, so let’s show our appreciation today. The IRC mission is “To help people experience the healing that comes from knowing God, in all areas of their life. We provide teaching to individuals and training to leaders so they can live out Gods’ will for their life.”
